昨年11月にリリースされた横須賀発の4人組エモーショナル・ロック・バンドweaveと、京都の新鋭fogによるスプリット・アルバム『clear and serene』。5月9日初台WALLで行われた同アルバムのリリース・ツアー・ファイナル公演のドキュメンタリー映像が公開された。
同公演はゲスト・バンドとしてwakamiyaとcurveを迎えて開催された。現場を体感した人も、惜しくも来場できなかった方も、会場の雰囲気が味わえるドキュメンタリー映像となっているので早速ご覧いただきたい。

横須賀発の4人組weaveと京都の新鋭fogの2組によるスプリット･アルバム。fogにとってはこれが初の全国流通盤となるとのことで、気合も一入だろう。どちらのバンドも未発表曲を3曲ずつ持ち寄ってリリースされる今作は、一貫してエモーショナルなサウンドが印象的だ。weaveの"静"と"動"で編み込まれた緻密なサウンドに対して、fogは日本語詞によるギター･ロックで直球を投げてくる。似ているようで似ていない、近いようで遠いような両者だからこそ、まとまりを持ちながらも楽曲の個性が際立ったスプリット･アルバムに仕上がったのだろう。五月蝿いぐらいに詰め込まれた感情的なサウンドで、シーンの扉を開けていく彼らの勇士が見えるようだ。希望と期待に満ちている。（齋藤 日穂）

"何でもあり"も大歓迎。しかし、スクリーモ以降、それが行き過ぎてしまったため、何が何だかわからなくなってしまったエモの原点や本質を、横須賀の4人組weaveの1stアルバムに見出すリスナーは少なくないはずだ。静から動へ、動から静へという起伏を作り出しながらもほぼミッドテンポで押し通した全11曲。"何でもあり"ではないところに自分たちの表現に対する自信と確信が窺える。叫ぶわけでも唸るわけでもない。過剰な泣きがあるわけでもない。アクロバティックな演奏で驚かせるわけでもない。とことん研ぎ澄ました演奏はストイックの一言に尽きるが、作り手の情熱、美学、哲学をしっかりと伝えている。ビューティフル・エモなんて言葉も思い浮かべたが、考えてみればエモとは元々、美しい音楽ではなかったか。彼らのアルバムを聴き、そんなことも思い出したのである。（山口 智男）

横須賀発の4人組エモ・ハードコア・バンドweaveが1stアルバムと昨年4月に発表した2ndシングルのリイシュー盤を同時リリース。その後者である本作は挨拶代わりの1作と言えるだろう。クリーンなギター・アルペジオに、強靭なリズム隊、激しく深く歪むギター、男気溢れるヴォーカル。しっとりと奏でられるタイトル・チューンを始め、インスト曲であるTrack.2「dawn」は、その優しい音色にじっくりと聴き入ってしまうし、Track.3「mineral pitch」は、爆音の中でグッと拳を突き上げシンガロングしたくなる衝動にかられる。彼らの熱とスピリットが凝縮された、ライヴを体感してみたくなる3曲だ。（大島 あゆみ）
